Cloud County Awards $304,500 to 20 Local Projects Through Meridian Way Wind Farm Grant

During a regular meeting in April 2025, the Cloud County Commission awarded 20 non-profit projects funding support through the Meridian Way Wind Farm.

EDP Renewables provided these funds, totaling $304,500. The funds will support innovative projects that enhance the quality of life of citizens in Cloud County.

To be considered, each organization had to apply by sending an application to the Cloud County Courthouse.

Commissioners and committees then considered each grant application and announced the recipients. This grant has been available for Cloud County non-profits since 2014.

Recipients included:

Get in the Cloud Small Business Grant Program – $150,000

Cloud Corp (Budget Assistance) – $15,000

City of Jamestown (Municipal Software) – $7,000

City of Glasco Library (New Children’s Books and Large Print) – $1,500

Cloud County Emergency Preparedness (Budget / Mill Reduction) – $20,000

Concordia Senior Center (Steam Table) – $3,500

USD 333 (Panther Paw-some Readers) – $5,000

Brown Grand Theater (Giving Voice to the Past; Illuminating the Future) – $20,000

Clyde Senior Center (Re-roof and Replace Damaged Guttering) – $5,000

Cloud County Resource Center (School Supply 2025) – $5,000

National Orphan Train Complex (Upgrade NOTC Grounds and Landscape) – $8,000

City of Aurora (City Hall Roof and Building Remodel) – $8.000

NCK Environmental (Sanitarian Computer Upgrade) – $500

Cloud County Safety (Safety Items) – $5,000

Chamber of Commerce (Computer and Printer Upgrade) – $4,000

Glasco Rural Fire Department (Fire Truck Build) – $20,000

Knight of Columbus (Sidewalk Repair) – $5,000

City of Glasco (Fire Truck Apparatus) – $20,000

USD 224 (School Age Program) – $2,000

Cloud County Fairgrounds (Heating Units) – $25,000
