Since 1992 the Clyde Area Foundation has been supporting the city of Clyde through grant assistance to various schools, clubs, and organizations. Enhancing the quality of life within the community.
The Foundation will hold its annual meeting on Sunday, January 12th at the Clyde Community Hall. The event will kick off with an Open House from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m., highlighted by honoring the 2025 Harold and Leola Wood Community Service Award recipient.
Deb Ohlde, CAF President, said along with honoring the Harold and Leola Wood Community Service Award recipient, the annual meeting also celebrates the Foundation’s successes.
“The annual meeting is held so that we can celebrate what the Foundation has been able to accomplish in the past year and to award grants for the coming year. Also, we’ll take the opportunity to introduce the Members who are in attendance who were awarded grants the year before. Those individuals will give a brief overview of how the funding has impacted their project and how successful it was.”
Ohlde said that each year a deserving individual or group of individuals is awarded the Harold and Leola Wood Community Service Award. She spoke about this year’s recipient, Steve Caron.
“Steve has been an active volunteer, serving on both the Library Board and also volunteering at our nursing home, Park Villa. In addition, he does some of what are oftentimes thankless tasks around town, like picking up trash and spraying weeds in the summertime. He is just all around available to assist with community needs that we have, and is also active in his church.”
After the Open House Foundation members will hold their annual meeting, which includes the awarding of 2025 grants, election of trustees, and other business. Annual memberships in CAF are open and encouraged, further helping to support the community.
