DAR Good Citizens and Essay Scholarship Winner

The Nathan Edson Chapter NSDAR is proud to announce Jaci Winter as the recipient of the Good Citizens award for Clifton/Clyde High School. She is the daughter of Cade and Jill Winter. Jaci received her award at the annual Nathan Edson Awards Tea on March 16. She was presented a DAR Good Citizens pin, certificate and a monetary award. It was also announced that her essay was chosen as the winning essay and has been sent to the Kansas State DAR for state competition. The DAR Good Citizens Program and essay contest is our way of recognizing outstanding young people who exhibit the qualities of good citizenship in their homes, schools, and communities!

Jaci is a four-year member of FBLA and has served as president and secretary, She placed first in “Social Media Strategies” at the Business Leaders of America 2022 and 2023 competitions. She has been a four-year FFA member serving as Treasurer, Historian and received the Outstanding Member Award for three years. Jaci is a two-year member of the National Honor Society, a three-year member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, a four-year member of volleyball and track, a two-year member of Student Council, a one-year member of Basketball and Choir, and a four-year member of FCCLA.

She has been involved in many community service activities, including making freezer meals for families in need, mowing the church cemetery, hosting bible studies for adults, sports camps for children, and working at concession stands and soup suppers.

She has worked as a certified nursing aid at the Linn Community Nursing Home, a farm hand at Wintergreen Farms, a nanny for a local family, and also has a baking business called Jaci’s Pastries.

Jaci plans on attending Kansas State University and majoring in Communication Sciences and Disorders to become a Speech-Language Pathologist.
