The City of Enterprise secured a $650,000 Community Development Block Grant from the Kansas Department of Commerce, enabling them to move forward with long-needed upgrades to its aging municipal pool.

Public Works Superintendent Damon Greep said the grant will allow the city to address the major repairs the pool has required for years. Early plans call for replacing deteriorating deck surfaces and adding a zero-entry, ADA-accessible ramp to improve access for swimmers with mobility challenges. Other potential improvements include expanding the picnic area, updating the check-in shack, and adding simple water features that recirculate water back into the pool.

Final designs will depend on engineering and cost estimates. The city expects to operate the pool for one more summer before beginning construction after the 2026 season.

Built in 1991, the pool has required frequent repairs since its original building was removed in 2001.
