The Greater Manhattan Community Foundation (GMCF) will host its 26th Annual Meeting and 12th annual Community Foundation Awards Event on Monday, March 24th, at the Manhattan Conference Center. The evening will kick off with a Social event at 5:30 p.m., followed by a Buffet-style Dinner at 6:00.
This annual event has become one of the largest and most well-attended events in the community, drawing nearly 600 participants each year. Vern Henricks, GMCF President & CEO, said this annual meeting is a time to recognize those in the community.
“This is a governance thing for us where we have to elect new officers and have to have trustees approved. There are some mandated efforts as part of the evening, but then there’s a lot of fun, too.”
“We will be handing out another six awards this year. Volunteers and philanthropists and recognizing some business lattice that evening. It’s a fun time for all.”
Six individuals and organizations will be recognized, with awards being presented. This year’s awards include the Rising Star Volunteer, Distinguished Volunteer, Distinguished Service Club, Business Philanthropy, and Individual Philanthropy.
Henricks said the event will also highlight an area nonprofit for their work.
“We will also recognize a local nonprofit for their work in the community. Every year, we do a little video to help feature a nonprofit and make sure the community knows the good things they’re doing.”
Individual and table reservations for this annual event are currently available. Visit https://www.mcfks.org/community-foundation-awards.cfm for more information on and to reserve your seat.
