The Nathan Edson Chapter of DAR is proud to announce Navaeh Valcoure as the winner of the Good Citizens award for Concordia High School, She is the granddaughter of Bill and Lisa Valcoure. Nevaeh received her award at the annual Nathan Edson Awards Banquet on March 16. She was presented a DAR Good Citizens pin, certificate and a monetary award. The DAR Good Citizens program is our way to recognize outstanding young people who exhibit the qualities of good citizenship in their homes, schools, and communities!
Nevaeh’s activities include FFA, where she won the Greenhand Degree in 2021, is a Chapter officer for the fourth year, and is a member of the State Dairy, Vet & Livestock Judging Team. She is a two-year member of the CHS Student Council and has served as Vice President and is now Executive Vice President. She is also a member of the National Honor Society and has over 50 hours of community service. Nevaeh was also named as March’s CHS Student of the Month. She has been involved in Chamber Choir, Trap Shooting, Softball, Wrestling, and Powerlifting.
Nevaeh has taken the lead in organizing and presenting mini-lessons to elementary-aged students about FFA and agriculture; co-chaired the FFA chapters, Thank-a-Farmer” activities, promoted agricultural awareness to the community, and assisted younger members in training for Round-Robin at our local county fair.
She currently works at the Cloud County Coop as a scale operator and in customer service. She also works at Boley Farms, helping take care of cattle and helping in hay production. The DAR Good Citizens program is a brilliant way to recognize outstanding young people who exhibit the qualities of good citizenship in their homes, schools, and communities! Chapters should contact local high schools as soon as possible and encourage their participation.
Nevaeh plans to attend college and study Agribusiness and Animal Science.
