The Greater Manhattan Community Foundation (GMCF) invites the public to its 12th annual Community Foundation Awards, set for Monday, March 23rd, at the Manhattan Conference Center. The evening will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a Social Hour.
Vern Henricks, GMCF President and CEO, said this event is an opportunity to share the great things going on in the community.
“It’s always fun to tell the stories, kind of the behind-the-scenes aspects of philanthropy, and the results of what people choose to do.”
“So, this year’s event will be no different than others. Just a great, exciting evening to celebrate the great things happening in Manhattan.”
Along with presenting multiple awards, including Rising Star Volunteer, Distinguished Volunteer, Philanthropy awards, and more, the evening will also highlight local non-profits and their impact on the community.
Henricks spoke about the purpose of celebrating philanthropy and non-profit organizations.
“The evening is kind of set up with the idea of bringing community leaders together with nonprofits that are making a difference and providing an inspirational night of thanking people for what they’ve done, not only on the philanthropy side, but certainly on the nonprofit side, and inspiring people that they too can make a difference.”
“Everybody can make a difference in their own way.”
“We hope this evening kind of inspires people to take a look at that and maybe find their way or their part in how they can make a difference in a community.”
Henrick emphasized that everyone is invited to join in celebrating the many positive things happening throughout the Manhattan area.
