Hanna Orr of Munden has been crowned the 2024/25 Kansas Czech-Slovak Queen, making her the third member of the Republic County Czech Club to hold this title. Orr expressed her honor and excitement about the connections she’ll make, including meeting the Kansas Director of Commerce.

Guided by Stacia Piroutek, the club’s treasurer, Orr received multiple pageant awards, including Bohemian crystal and garnet jewelry. Her duties include a trip to Washington, D.C., and attending various Czech festivals nationwide. Orr hopes to create a traveling library program to educate kids about Czech-Slovak heritage.

After her reign, she will join the club’s board. Orr’s first appearance as queen will be at the Wilber Czech Festival in Nebraska, and she will compete for the Miss Czech/Slovak US title next year. She has received a $700 scholarship and will attend K-State this fall, majoring in health and nutrition with a nursing degree.
