Daegen DeGraff, a 2025 graduate of Concordia Junior-Senior High School and talented artist, has won the People’s Choice Award in the Celebrate the West Art Contest through online voting. She was also named the 2025 State of Kansas winner.

DeGraff earned a $250 cash prize for the People’s Choice Award and an additional $200 for representing Kansas. Her award-winning graphite drawing, titled “Uncle Jeff,” captures the essence of rural Kansas life and reflects the spirit of the state.

As part of her recognition, she has the opportunity to showcase her artwork at the Western Governors’ Association Annual Meeting, June 23–25 in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

DeGraff’s accomplishments celebrate her outstanding artistic ability and proudly represent Kansas on a national platform. She plans to attend Cloud County Community College before transferring to Fort Hays State University to pursue a Fine Arts degree in Art Education, with the goal of opening her own art studio and offering private lessons in the future.
