Ascension Via Christi Hospital in Manhattan has been recognized as a 2025 High Performing hospital for Maternity Care by U.S. News & World Report for the fourth consecutive year. This prestigious designation is awarded based on exceptional performance in key areas, including low rates of severe newborn complications, birthing-friendly practices, and transparency on racial and ethnic disparities. The hospital’s commitment to quality has also earned it the designation of a Maternity Care Access Hospital for serving underserved communities at risk of becoming maternity care deserts—a distinction given to only 14% of evaluated hospitals.
Since 2021, U.S. News has evaluated maternity care hospitals to guide expectant parents in choosing quality maternity services. Via Christi Hospital is among the top half of 817 evaluated hospitals recognized for significantly lower C-section rates and reduced newborn complications.
Hospital President Bob Copple highlighted the dedication of the maternal care team in providing compassionate, high-quality care. In addition to its U.S. News accolades, the hospital has achieved a 4-star Medicare rating, a 5-star cleanliness rating, an “A” safety grade from The Leapfrog Group, and recognition as one of America’s Best-in-State Hospitals 2025 by Newsweek. These distinctions underscore Via Christi’s unwavering commitment to excellence in maternity and overall healthcare services.
