71-Year-Old Man Found Dead in Edwardsville Ahead of Federal Trial; No Foul Play Suspected

The Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) is investigating a death in Edwardsville, Kansas.

Today, Monday, Dec. 2, around 9 a.m., Edwardsville police received a 911 call from a resident at 706 S. 9th St., reporting a gunshot. Officers arrived to find a 71-year-old man, Roger Golubski, deceased on the back porch with a fatal gunshot wound.

The Edwardsville Police requested KBI assistance at approximately 9:30 a.m., and special agents began their investigation. Authorities have found no signs of foul play.

Golubski was scheduled to appear that day in a federal trial for alleged civil rights violations. An autopsy is planned, and a thorough investigation is ongoing. No additional details are available at this time.
