If you have traveled through Abilene, you have more than likely seen the patriotic display of American Flags up and down the streets. With the typical Kansas winds and the amount of time they are displayed, these flags need to be replaced every year.

The Abilene Convention and Visitor’s Bureau could use your help to keep these flags fresh and beautiful. They are currently seeking Sponsors to purchase flags that will be used throughout 2024. Julie Roller-Weeks, Director of the Visitor’s Bureau, talks about the Flag Project.

There are multiple ways you can donate to purchase a flag and will be recognized for your grateful contribution.

Julie mentioned that a previous travel writer saw Abilene as the picture of Americana with all the beautiful flags throughout town. Now is the perfect time to donate and be part of this year’s continuing tradition.
