Amazon has purchased 20 acres in the Salina Airport Industrial Center to build a 90,000-square-foot last-mile distribution facility at 1850 W. Water Well Rd. The new site, expected to create at least 100 jobs, will enhance Amazon’s regional logistics network and boost Salina’s position as a key economic hub in Kansas. The facility will streamline the final leg of the fulfillment process, enabling faster deliveries to rural communities. Employees will earn a minimum of $17 per hour.
This development is part of a larger 80-acre industrial subdivision that is undergoing infrastructure upgrades, including new roads and utilities. The Salina Airport Authority is supporting construction to facilitate Amazon’s operations and future growth.
Salina’s central location, skilled workforce, and strong transportation network were key factors in Amazon’s decision to expand there. The nearby Salina Regional Airport offers nonstop flights to major cities, connecting the area to national and international markets.
The Salina Regional Airport and Industrial Center already house over 125 businesses, providing more than 7,000 jobs and contributing $1.3 billion annually to the Kansas economy. Amazon’s new facility is set to further drive growth, innovation, and logistics in the region.
