AMAZONE, the technology-driven agricultural equipment company, is expanding its U.S. operations with a new facility in El Dorado, Kansas, marking a major step in its growth strategy.

The company, which began U.S. operations in 2019, has seen steady growth in parts and equipment sales and is now establishing a central warehouse. Marc Heater, Director of Sales and Marketing USA said the El Dorado location was chosen for its central U.S. location.

“We brought over Laura Bevermann from Germany, who’s an employee for us, and her job was to find the best spot in the USA. She did a lot of research based off of shipping, workforce, languages, and all of that to find the best location across the U.S.,” he said. “We found the best location would be in the central U.S., between Nebraska, Kansas and maybe the Texas, Oklahoma area. But El Dorado brought us the best options for all the things we needed to grow our business successfully.”

Being a tech-driven company, Heater said they like to stay ahead of the competition. “In the U.S.A. our machines set us apart by technology. We’re always trying to build better machines to help farmers put more money in their pocket.”

Community connection is also important. A team in the U.S. works hands on with dealers, as well as with farmers helping with demos and setups, and ensuring machines are running properly.

AMAZONE currently has two full-time employees in El Dorado with goals to grow to four or five in the next five years.  The company also hopes that by partnering with local colleges they will be able to bring in students for their sales and service staff not just in El Dorado, but across the country.

Over the long term, Heater said they are going to keep building their presence. The company plans to increase assembly operations using parts sourced from the U.S., supporting both its operations and the regional economy. “As we grow down the road, instead of sourcing everything from Germany, we will grow that business here in the USA by sourcing USA parts.”

Overall, the facility will improve parts availability for local dealers, allowing farmers faster access to high-tech equipment and parts such as fertilizer spreaders, tillage machines, sprayers, planters, and seeders.

Heater said the company has built strong relationships with many of its dealers and continues to look for opportunities to expand its dealer network. Anyone interested in becoming a dealer can reach out through the website at AMAZONE.net. The site also allows customers to request a machine demo.

“We’re grateful for the welcome to the El Dorado area, and we’re happy to be putting our roots here in Kansas,” said Heater.
