Kansas City Chiefs Head Coach Andy Reid was named a finalist for the Associated Press “Coach of the Year” award on Thursday. Reid joins Dan Campbell (Lions), Kevin O’Connell (Vikings), Sean Payton (Broncos), and Dan Quinn (Commanders) as this year’s nominees.
Reid led the Chiefs to a franchise-best 15-2 regular-season record in 2024, securing their ninth consecutive postseason appearance, eighth straight division title, and a seventh consecutive AFC Championship Game berth. Despite key injuries to offensive players, including Isiah Pacheco, Hollywood Brown, and Rashee Rice, Reid maintained the team’s success.
The Chiefs’ Divisional Round victory over Houston marked Reid’s 300th career win, making him one of four coaches in NFL history to achieve that milestone. Only Don Shula, Bill Belichick, and George Halas have more career wins.
Reid’s Chiefs will host the Buffalo Bills on Sunday for the AFC Championship Game.
