Annual City Wide Cleanup in Concordia

Spring is here, and it is time to “Refresh Concordia!”  The City Commission urges residents to prepare their yards and front porches for enjoyment this spring by pruning trees and bushes and removing items no longer used from their properties. Concordia residents are encouraged to tidy up their yards the weekend of April 15 & 16, revealing their pride in our beautiful community.

“We are excited to offer this opportunity again to help clean up Concordia, but would ask our citizens to be good stewards of this program by having all materials placed at the curb and separated by April 17,” Mayor Chuck Lambertz implored. “Also, please remember, if the work is something you can do on your own, please do it so that we are able to maximize the benefit of this program and make the most efficient use of our resources.”

City crews will begin collecting items from the curb on Monday, April 17. Items must be placed at the curb before 7:00AM to guarantee pickup. Tree limbs less than 4 inches in diameter (not trees), passenger car and truck tires, appliances and furniture will be collected. Household trash and construction debris will not be collected. Residents are responsible to ensure items are and remain sorted at the curb.

Items remaining at the curb after April 21 will be treated as a nuisance, and a cleanup fee of $300 will be charged.

Residents with questions may call City Hall at (785) 243-2670 or visit the City’s website www.concordiaks.org.
