Annual Solomon Festival to Bring the Community Together this Weekend

The Solomon Festival Committee is excited to announce the Solomon Festival on Friday, July 19th, and Saturday, July 20th, themed “Aloha Summer – Small Town Paradise.”

The festival begins with a Baby Beauty Contest at 6:00 p.m., followed by a parade at 7:00 p.m., followed by a Family Fun Fest with team competitions, fire performances, and Tropical Karaoke at 8:00 p.m.

Saturday starts with the Cub Scout Flag Raising at 7:45 a.m. and Pancake Feed at 8:00 a.m. Activities through Saturday include a car show, volleyball tournament, Vendor Village, kids’ activities, and traditional events like the Hay Scramble and Turtle Races. Afinke Machine will perform during the day, and the festival ends with a Street Dance at 9:00 p.m. featuring the Sunset Sinners.

The Medallion Hunt sponsored by Marshall Motors is currently going on and offers a $250 prize for the lucky winner. For more information on this year’s event, visit the festival’s Facebook Page.
