Michael Beasley, the former Kansas State All-American, has been named BIG3 Most Valuable Player for the second year in a row. The award was announced Friday after a vote by league players and coaches.
Beasley has averaged 23.1 points, 6.7 rebounds and 1.6 assists this season for Miami 305 (5-3). He leads the league in total points (162) and field goals made (59), while ranking second in 4-pointers (3) and tied for third in 3-pointers (12). His teammates include former Kansas star Mario Chalmers and Lance Stephenson, with coaching led by five-time NBA champion Michael Cooper.
Miami 305 will face Dallas Power (6-2) in the BIG3 playoffs Sunday at the American Airlines Center in Dallas. The game will be televised on CBS.
Beasley, the No. 2 pick in the 2008 NBA Draft, previously played 11 NBA seasons and starred in the Chinese Basketball Association.
