Kansas City Royals shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. secured a spot in Phase 2 of the 2025 MLB All-Star voting after finishing second among American League shortstops in Phase 1. Witt trails Athletics rookie Jacob Wilson by about 500,000 votes.
Witt has recorded 21 stolen bases and 40 extra-base hits in 80 games this season. While his offensive numbers have dipped from 2024, his defense remains strong, leading all players with 15 outs above average.
Phase 2 voting begins Monday at noon ET and runs until Wednesday. Fans can vote once daily online and through MLB’s mobile apps. The final starting lineup for the All-Star Game on July 15 will be announced live on ESPN Wednesday evening.
Witt continues to be a key contributor for the Royals as they aim to build on their recent successes.
