Larry Wallace Jr. has been selected as the 2024 Clay County Relay for Life speaker.
Relay for Life is a yearly celebration and donation drive held in Clay Center which honors and raises money for those individuals diagnosed with cancer.
Wallace was diagnosed in late 2022 with stage 3 colon cancer. He soon began over a year’s long process of several chemotherapy and radiation treatments. On July 12, Wallace’s doctor informed him that he is officially cancer free. Wallace said he plans to speak on his experiences battling cancer during his treatment.
This year’s Relay for Life event will take place on August 9 on the Clay County Courthouse Square in Clay Center.
