The Kansas City Chiefs lost to the Seattle Seahawks, 33-16, in their second preseason game Friday night.
Seattle built an early lead and stayed ahead throughout, though the focus remained on roster evaluation. Quarterback Gardner Minshew started in place of Patrick Mahomes, completing 7 of 9 passes for 70 yards and a touchdown to tight end Robert Tonyan. Tonyan led the team with four receptions for 41 yards.
Kansas City’s only other score came on an 88-yard punt return by Skyy Moore in the fourth quarter.
Several players left with injuries, including linebacker Jack Cochrane (knee), cornerbacks Nazeeh Johnson (shoulder) and Nohl Williams (concussion protocol), and safeties Mike Edwards (hamstring) and Felix Anudike-Uzomah (hamstring).
The Chiefs return home to face the Chicago Bears on Friday at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium in their preseason finale.
