Chiefs Tight End Room Crowded Behind Kelce as Camp Nears

By Jayson Henderson

The Kansas City Chiefs are heading into training camp with seven tight ends on the roster. Travis Kelce leads the group as he begins his 13th season. He caught 97 passes last year and remains one of the league’s most reliable weapons. Noah Gray, now in his fifth season, set career highs in 2024 and continues to play a key role both on offense and special teams. Jared Wiley, a 2024 draft pick, is rehabbing from an ACL injury but is expected to be ready. Undrafted rookie Jake Briningstool joins after a productive college career at Clemson. Geor’Quarius Spivey and Tre Watson, both looking for their first NFL snaps, will compete for depth roles. Veteran Robert Tonyan returns with experience and past production. The Chiefs kept four tight ends last season, so competition will be tough as several players battle for one or two remaining spots.
