Central Kansas Mental Health Center (CKMHC) is preparing to renovate its new building at 124 Iowa Avenue in Salina, the former Columbia Insurance Group location. The 11,400-square-foot building, purchased in 2024, will be expanded by 2,900 square feet and turned into CKMHC’s new Youth Campus—a space dedicated to children, teens, and families.

The Youth Campus will bring together school-based programs, community services, therapy groups, and other supports to increase access to mental health care for families across central Kansas. Construction is set to begin in November 2025, with services expected to move in by fall 2026.

The project comes as youth mental health needs continue to rise. In 2024, more than 20% of Kansas youth ages 12–17 experienced major depression, and most did not receive help. CKMHC invites community members to support its Brighter Tomorrows Ahead campaign to help furnish and equip the new space for care and healing.
