Clay Center Municipal Airport Receives Funds for Runway Rehabilitation

On April 24th, Governor Laura Kelly announced that $468,000 was awarded to the Clay Center Municipal Airport for runway pavement rehabilitation. It was part of a $14.5 million fund that will be split between 47 aviation projects across the state. The funds come from the Kansas Airport Improvement Program (KAIP), which supports planning, construction, and rehabilitation at public-use general aviation airports.

In total, 81 applications were received to the tune of $42 million. Annually, KAIP is funded with $15 million and requires local matching funds of 10-50%, depending on the project. With its matching funds, the project value comes to $22.9 million.

More information on the project start date will be announced as it becomes available.
