Clay Center Tigersharks Make Waves at Splash into Summer Meet

The Clay Center Tigersharks opened their summer swim season on June 1 with a strong showing at the Kansas-Nebraska South Splash into Summer meet in Beatrice.

Swimmers from all age groups contributed. Jorja Auld led the way, winning the 50 Backstroke (36.20) and swimming on the first-place 50 Free Relay team (2:03.79). She also placed third in the 100 Breaststroke (1:30.83). Will Crutcher captured wins in the 50 Free (27.95) and 50 Fly (37.68). Bailee Williams earned first in the 50 Free (34.97), second in the 50 Fly, and swam key legs in IM and relay events. Blake Bergsten added wins in the 25 Back (20.54), 25 Free (17.75), and 50 Free (39.38).

Relay teams delivered. The 10 & Under Mixed Medley Relay took first (1:40.74), with strong swims from the 13-14 and 15 & Over groups.

Young swimmers also impressed. Rhett Wietharn won several 7-8 events, and Colin Beaver earned points in the 9-10 division.
