Clay Center Woman and Two Others Injured in Ottawa County Collision

A Clay Center woman and two others were injured in an accident yesterday afternoon in Ottawa County.

Just before 4:30 p.m. the Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP) reported a 2013 Chevy pickup driven by Vera F. Lyne, 71, Clay Center, with a juvenile passenger, exited from a private driveway in front of a 1987 Mack Dump Truck heading westbound driven by Michael T. Haney, 56, Salina. After the collision, both vehicles came to rest in the North ditch.

According to the KHP, Lyne, Michael Haney, and a passenger in the dump truck, Peter C. Haney, Jr. 59, Minneapolis, were transported by EMS to Salina Regional Health Center with suspected serious injuries. It was reported that all three were not wearing their seatbelts. No information has been released about the juvenile, as juvenile records are protected.
