Clay Co. Sheriff’s Dept. Finds Missing Man Deceased

From a report from the Clay County Sheriff’s Department:

On October 15th, 2024 around 12:00pm, the Clay County Sheriff’s Office received a report from the Geary County Sheriff’s Office.

Geary County advised that a 30-year-old white male had been missing since October 13th, 2024. Geary County advised that the cell phone owned by the missing individual had last sent a cell phone signal from the area northwest of 15th Road and the Republican River.

Clay County Sheriff Deputies began searching that area. Friends of the missing white male found him deceased in his vehicle near the Republican River and notified the Clay County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies arrived and processed the scene. The body was transported from the scene and an autopsy has been ordered. Cause of death is believed to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
