Clay County Medical Center (CCMC) is welcoming Andrew Still as a CEO intern this summer. Originally from Colorado Springs, Still has a diverse background in healthcare, leadership, and entrepreneurship. Andrew’s nursing experience includes working in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Children’s Hospital Colorado and later as an ER nurse in Alabama. He is now in Kansas due to his wife’s military assignment.
“My wife got stationed at Fort Rucker in Alabama, so I was an ER nurse during our time down there. And then when we got stationed up here in Kansas, I decided that I was going to move more of the leadership route.,” he said.
Andrew says his ultimate goal is to become a high-level healthcare executive such as a Chief Nursing Officer or CEO.
“Eventually, I’d like to be a high level director somewhere. I don’t know where we’re going to end up or where we’re even going next,” said Still. “My next step is to be a director, I think, and then from there, I’d like to move to CNO or CEO.”
Alongside his internship at CCMC, Andrew is the administrator of a small assisted living facility in Abilene. He also oversees a real estate project and enjoys hobbies like beekeeping and gardening. He and his wife, a U.S. Army Chinook pilot, plan to grow a variety of tomato species next year to sell at the local farmer’s market.
