This month, the Clay County Commissioners approved a total of $50,000 in Small Business Development Grants. Budding entrepreneurs or current business owners who want to expand can apply for up to $5,000 in funding. The funds come at a one-to-one match, which can include personal or bank funding. Trades or good are not eligible to serve as a match. In total, the commission can help fund 10 small business grants.

Eligible businesses need to present a business plan, financial projection, and proof of matching funds. They will also appear before the commissioners for final approval.
