Cub Scouts, Scouts Attended Resident Camp in June

In June, Cub Scouts in Pack 55 and Scouts in Troops 54 and 254 attended camps.

From June 5th through the 8th, 10 Cub Scouts and 8 adults attended Resident Camp at Camp Brown. It included four days and three nights of swimming, shooting sports, Scout skills like orienteering, ecology, plus wood crafts, and more. 

The weekend concluded with a campfire with songs and skits. There was also a flag retirement ceremony and recognition of veterans in attendance. 

Resident Camp attendees included: Scouts Aleigha Stites, Abagail Hevelone, Lukas Stites, Carsyn Elder, Dawsyn Elder, Ethan Cowing, Hagen Washa, Lilly Robbins, Montgomery Webb, and Raymond Hevelone.

Troops 54 and 254 also enjoyed summer activities while attending seven days and six nights of Scouts BSA Resident Camp at Dane G. Hansen Reservation in Kirwin, KS from June 15th through the 21st. 

Six adult Scouters and 12 Scouts enjoyed daily merit badges classes, including rifle and shotgun shooting, archery, swimming, welding, digital technology, journalism, wildlife studies, wood carving, leatherworking, camping, and wilderness survival, reptile studies and more. 

In total, 33 merit badges were completed this year at camp. Open times saw scouts participating in water activities, extra range times, climbing and rappelling.
