The Trump Administration has appointed David Schemm as the new State Executive Director (SED) for the USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA) in Kansas, effective May 5, 2025.
Schemm brings extensive experience to the role, having previously served as Kansas SED during President Trump’s first term. Most recently, he was an agricultural advisor to U.S. Senator Roger Marshall. His leadership background includes service on the Kansas Association of Wheat Growers Board, the National Association of Wheat Growers, the United Sorghum Checkoff Program Board, and the A-Team Innovation and Sustainability group for the U.S. Grains Council.
As SED, Schemm will oversee the implementation of FSA programs in Kansas, including commodity, conservation, credit, and disaster assistance programs that support a safe and reliable food, fiber, and fuel supply.
FSA supports farmers, ranchers, and forest landowners through a national network of offices and locally elected committees. For more information, visit fsa.usda.gov.
