Jeff Davidson will be entertaining attendees at the Grow Clay County Annual Meeting February 21 with his own mix of western music and Kansas history. Some years ago, he was hired to sing cowboy songs around a campfire with a wagon train in Greenwood County. Needing introductions to his songs and some of the guests’ questions about the history of the area inspired his style of entertainment.
“Over time, I began to incorporate I began to incorporate some historic information before I would sing a song,” Davidson said. “I would talk about some part of Kansas history to introduce the songs.”
Davidson will entertain attendees with his guitar and vast knowledge of Kansas history.
“We’ll be talking about the Pony Express, railroads, cattle drives,” he said.
Davidson full-time job is as a watershed specialist. He was drawn to Western music because it talks about the wind and rain and scenery that he works in every day.
