The Sundance Institute announced 105 projects for the 2026 Sundance Film Festival, including a documentary about the Marion Record newspaper raid titled Seized. The raid occurred in August of 2023 when Marion Police Chief Gideon Cody and officers executed a search warrant at the Record newsroom, editor Eric Meyer’s home, and a councilwoman’s residence. The search was linked to the death of Meyer’s 98-year-old mother, leading to a debate about journalistic ethics, the role of local news, and constitutional rights.

The festival will take place in Park City and Salt Lake City, Utah, from January 22–February 1, 2026, with an at-home online program available January 29–February 1. Single film tickets go on sale January 14, and limited passes and packages are still available.
