In a story aired recently on Fox4 News, it is rumored that England’s national football team has secured its living quarters for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Reporter Hannah King says it appears that The Three Lions has reserved all 54 rooms of the Inn at Meadowbrook for their time at the tournament.
The Inn is a high-end, boutique hotel in Prairie Village, Kansas, that is known for its English Cottage aesthetic. King says Fox4 reached out to the Inn asking for confirmation of the booking, but property management would only say it is not their policy to share guest information with the public or media.
According to a 2022 article by Joel Griffiths for goal.com, the England national football team are called “The Three Lions” because of their iconic crest, which features three lions. The crest they sport is the official emblem of the English Football Association, which was founded in 1863.
World Cup teams from the Netherlands, Algeria, and Argentina will also be setting up base camps in the Kansas City metro area.
