Community members of the Greater Manhattan area, seeing a need, started two groups to help men and women who may be struggling. The women’s organization Fairy Godmothers and men’s organization The Guardians were formed to help offer financial support to citizens in need.

These groups, part of the Greater Manhattan Community Foundation, provide access to funds to citizens for essential needs. Verne Henricks, with the Guardians, said the whole motivation is to help keep people moving forward.
