HAYS, Kan. – The Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) recently announced that FHSU is among 30 providers in 18 states, including the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico, recognized for earning accreditation for its educator preparation programs.

The CAEP Accreditation Council held its Fall 2024 review in October, during which 30 providers were approved under the rigorous, nationally recognized CAEP Teacher Preparation Standards.

“These providers meet high standards so that their students receive an education that prepares them to succeed in a diverse range of classrooms after they graduate,” said CAEP President Dr. Christopher A. Koch. “Seeking CAEP Accreditation is a significant commitment on the part of an educator preparation provider.”

CAEP is a nationally recognized accrediting body for educator preparation. Its intent is to raise the performance of all providers focused on educator preparation. Approximately 600 educator preparation providers participate in the CAEP Accreditation system.

“We are proud that Fort Hays State University has once again earned CAEP accreditation, affirming the excellence of our educator preparation programs,” said Paul Adams, dean of the College of Education. “This recognition reflects our deep commitment to preparing future teachers who are ready to lead, inspire, and thrive in not only Kansas schools, but schools nationwide.”
