First-Half Run Propels Oklahoma State Past K-State, 79-66

STILLWATER, Okla. – A decisive 15-0 run to close the first half helped Oklahoma State secure a 79-66 victory over Kansas State on Tuesday night at Gallagher-Iba Arena, marking the Cowboys’ first Big 12 win of the season.

Oklahoma State (9-5, 1-2 Big 12) turned a tight 28-24 game with under four minutes left in the first half into a commanding 43-24 halftime lead. Senior guard Khalil Brantley sparked the run, contributing four points and a buzzer-beating jumper off a steal.

K-State (7-7, 1-2 Big 12) cut the deficit to 11 points twice in the second half but couldn’t overcome 19 turnovers, which Oklahoma State converted into 31 points. The Wildcats shot 51.1% from the field but struggled from beyond the arc, hitting just 21.4%.

David N’Guessan led K-State with a double-double (12 points, 12 rebounds), while Coleman Hawkins added 18 points. Abou Ousmane led OSU with 27 points.

K-State hosts No. 12 Houston on Saturday.
