Flags to Fly at Half-Staff Statewide May 22 to Honor Fallen Butler County Paramedic

Governor Laura Kelly has ordered flags across Kansas to be flown at half-staff from sunrise to sunset on Thursday, May 22, 2025, to honor Butler County paramedic Justin Lauppe, who died in the line of duty. The directive follows Executive Order #20-30.

“For 14 years, Justin Lauppe was dedicated to serving his community and providing essential care to his fellow Kansans in the greatest need,” Governor Laura Kelly said. “We owe him a debt of gratitude for his selfless sacrifices. My deepest condolences go out to his loved ones.”
