Eighteen former Kansas State players were active in Week 1 of the NFL season.
Rookie running back DJ Giddens made his debut for Indianapolis, rushing for 41 yards on 12 carries in the Colts’ 33-8 win over Miami. Fellow rookie Jacob Parrish recorded four tackles and one on special teams in Tampa Bay’s 23-20 victory at Atlanta. Marques Sigle also earned a start for San Francisco, tallying six tackles and a fumble recovery in a 17-13 win at Seattle.
Veterans also made an impact. Tyler Lockett debuted with Tennessee, playing 33 snaps in a 20-12 loss at Denver. Dalton Risner saw time for Cincinnati, while Cornelius Lucas played 56 snaps for Cleveland. D.J. Reed started for Detroit and recorded five tackles.
Felix Anudike-Uzomah is sidelined for the year, and several Wildcats are on practice squads. Week 2 continues with matchups featuring former K-State players across the league.
