Goldfinch Drive and new Quarry Road to open in Geary County

As realignment progresses, the Kansas Department of Transportation has scheduled to open Goldfinch Drive and a new portion of Quarry Road in Geary County by Friday, Dec. 16, weather permitting.

Residents are encouraged to use the new roads, Goldfinch Drive and Quarry Road. Goldfinch Drive runs from the west end of Mockingbird Road north to K-57 in Geary County. The new portion of Quarry Road runs from the K-57/U.S. 77 junction to the existing Quarry Road. (See attached map.)

The existing Quarry Road, running east to west is scheduled to close by 2023 and the Mockingbird Road/U.S. 77 entrance is scheduled to close later this winter.

Ebert Construction Co. Inc. of Wamego is the prime contractor for this $10 million project. All project work is scheduled for completion in October 2023, weather permitting.
