Governor Laura Kelly has ordered flags to be flown at half-staff at the State Capitol Complex and all court buildings in honor of Magistrate Judge and retired Army Lieutenant Colonel Erich Campbell, in accordance with Executive Order #20-30.
Campbell, who passed away on September 18, 2025, was recognized for his dedication to public service through both his military career and judicial work. Flags will remain at half-staff until his interment on Thursday, September 25, 2025.
Governor Kelly extended condolences to Campbell’s family, noting his leadership and service to Kansas and the nation.
“From his time in the Army to his time on the bench, Judge Campbell demonstrated a commitment to public service,” Governor Laura Kelly said. “We owe him a debt of gratitude for his leadership on behalf of Kansans and our country. My condolences go out to his loved ones during this difficult time.”
