The Grow Clay County Board of Directors announces that Executive Director Natalie Muruato has accepted a new career opportunity and will step down from her role at the end of September. Natalie’s last day will be September 30, 2025, following the successful completion of Piotique and the groundbreaking celebration for the Clay Center Multi-Generational Life Center.
Over the past four years, Natalie has been a driving force behind countless initiatives that have strengthened Clay County’s businesses, communities, and quality of life. Under her leadership, Grow Clay County has secured millions in grant funding, advanced major projects such as the Life Center, new housing, downtown revitalization efforts, and elevated Clay County’s profile across Kansas.
“The Board of Directors is deeply appreciative of Natalie’s dedication, vision, and tireless commitment,” said President Monte Green. “She will be greatly missed, and her impact will be felt for years to come.”
The Board has begun the process of forming a search committee and will hire a professional consultant to guide the search for Grow Clay County’s next executive director. The goal is to identify a leader who will continue the momentum and build upon the strong foundation Natalie has established.
Reflecting on her time with the organization, Natalie shared:
“Clay County has been an incredibly welcoming and collaborative community. Together, we have accomplished many great things, and I am so grateful for the support and encouragement I’ve received over the years.”
The community is invited to a farewell open house in Natalie’s honor on September 19, 2025, from 10 am to noon, at the Grow Clay County office, 517 Court Street in Clay Center, where friends, partners, and colleagues can thank her for her service and wish her well in her next chapter.
In its own press release, Dickinson County Economic Development Corporation announced Muruato had been hired as their new CEO/director on September 5th.
She will start the position on October 1, 2025.
