Haggerty Earns Spot on National Award Watch List

Kansas State junior guard P.J. Haggerty has been named to the early season watch list for the Lute Olson Award, given annually to the nation’s top Division I men’s basketball player by CollegeInsider.com.

Haggerty is one of 30 players selected nationwide and one of 10 from the Big 12 Conference. He was previously a finalist for the award while playing at Memphis during the 2024–25 season.

The Lute Olson Award honors the former Hall of Fame coach who won 776 games during his career at Iowa and Arizona.

Haggerty has been recognized on multiple national watch lists this season, including the Naismith Trophy, Oscar Robertson Trophy, Wooden Award and Jerry West Award lists.

On the court, Haggerty is averaging 22.7 points per game, ranking second nationally. His 250 points through 11 games are the most by a Wildcat since Michael Beasley in 2007–08.
