The U.S. House Transportation & Infrastructure Committee has advanced two bipartisan bills from Representative Sharice Davids, moving them to the House floor for a full vote. Both measures focus on strengthening emergency response and providing critical resources to communities and tribal nations.

The WARN Act updates the nation’s emergency alert systems to ensure federal, state, and local officials can send reliable, timely warnings during natural disasters, severe weather, or other crises. The goal is to give families more time to respond and protect lives.

A second bill allows the President to provide fire management assistance directly to Tribal governments. This change ensures Tribal nations receive federal support quickly during wildfires and other emergencies, helping protect people, homes, and lands.

As a member of the committee, Davids has pushed for practical, bipartisan solutions that improve infrastructure, emergency preparedness, and public safety nationwide. With committee approval, these two bills now head to the full House, where Davids is working with colleagues on both sides of the aisle to see them signed into law.
