Humphrey Earns National Recognition Up Front

Kansas City Chiefs center Creed Humphrey has been named a finalist for the inaugural “Protector of the Year Award,” the NFL announced Thursday.

Humphrey is one of six finalists for the award, which honors the league’s top offensive lineman. He joins Garrett Bolles of the Broncos, Aaron Brewer of the Dolphins, Quinn Meinerz of the Broncos, Penei Sewell of the Lions, and Joe Thuney of the Bears.

Finalists were selected by a panel of former All-Pro offensive linemen using criteria that included consistency, durability, leadership, film study, and advanced analytics.

Humphrey, a five-year veteran, is coming off another strong season anchoring the Chiefs’ offensive line. The former second-round pick allowed just eight total pressures in 2025 while logging 742 pass-blocking snaps. His performance earned him Associated Press First-Team All-Pro honors for the second straight year.

The winner of the Protector of the Year Award will be announced at NFL Honors on Feb. 5.
