IpX Partners with Fort Hays State University to Enhance Education and Workforce Development in Manufacturing

IpX and Fort Hays State University have formed a new partnership aimed at combining education and industry to promote sustainable growth and innovation. This alliance will develop educational programs focused on operations and production management, helping students gain valuable skills for future manufacturing jobs.

Through this partnership, students can earn industry-standard CM2 certifications from IpX, which will be recognized with digital badges. These badges acknowledge the skills and accomplishments of the learners. In addition, students can receive continuing education credits that can be applied toward undergraduate and graduate programs at Fort Hays State University through a credit for prior learning process.

If students earned their CM2-CORE and CM2-PRO certifications within the last three years, they may receive up to six hours of credit for their undergraduate degrees or three hours for graduate degrees. Those who complete these certifications will also receive a digital badge to highlight their expertise.

Plans are underway to create and provide more industry certifications, workforce training, professional development, and programs that will boost economic and community development in rural areas, especially in the skilled trades. This initiative will enhance offerings at Fort Hays State University’s affiliated technical campuses: Fort Hays Tech – Northwest in Goodland and Fort Hays Tech – Northcentral in Hays and Beloit.

“Our alliance with IpX is a momentous step in expanding our horizons,” FHSU President Tisa Mason said. “We are not just aiming to foster academic excellence but also to integrate this excellence with real-world industry demands. This partnership represents a convergence of academic rigor and industry relevance, poised to create a transformative educational experience.”
