Yesterday afternoon, the Junction City Police Department was alerted to TikTok threats targeting Junction City Middle School, part of a list of potential school shooting sites. After a thorough investigation by School Resource Officers and USD 475, the threat was found to be unfounded, with no credible evidence of immediate danger.

The list includes Title 1 schools receiving federal funding. Despite this, local law enforcement and USD 475 are committed to student safety, with increased officer presence at schools. Similar threats have appeared in other states, and JCPD is working with the Kansas Bureau of Investigation to investigate further.
