K-State Adds Georgia Southern Transfer Kelsey Chen to Women’s Golf.

Kansas State women’s golf coach Stew Burke announced the addition of transfer Jiarui (Kelsey) Chen from Georgia Southern. Chen played her freshman season at Georgia Southern, posting a 74.93 scoring average with six top-20 finishes.

Chen competed in the NCAA Regional and NCAA Championship this year, helping Georgia Southern tie with K-State for second at the Lexington Regional. Her best result was sixth place at the Puerto Rico Classic.

A native of Dalian, China, Chen had success as a junior golfer, winning the 2023 Buick National Junior and 2022 Super Lychee National. She was also the low amateur at the China LPGA Q-School.

Chen joins a signing class that includes Stalee Fields, Casey Kang, and Thitaree Visavapattamawan. Burke said Chen’s experience will help a young K-State lineup next season.
