K-State Adjusts Catbacker Tour Format

Kansas State Athletics and the K-State Alumni Association have announced changes to the Catbacker Club program. The traditional two-week summer tour will no longer take place, but local clubs will continue to support the University in new ways.

Instead of a fixed schedule, future events will be coordinated individually with each club. These efforts will still support the Ahearn Fund and local scholarships through the Alumni Association.

Athletics Director Gene Taylor cited changes in recruiting calendars, transfer portal timelines, and student-athlete commitments as reasons for the shift. He emphasized that Catbacker Clubs will continue to play a key role in supporting K-State.

The tour has long featured golf events, dinners, and visits from coaches. While its format will change, the goal remains the same: to connect Wildcat fans across the region.

Alumni Association President Adam Walker said the tradition will evolve but continue to unite the K-State community.
