Kansas State secured a 54-49 victory over Cincinnati on Wednesday night, breaking a three-game road losing streak. Senior David N’Guessan led the Wildcats with 18 points and 10 rebounds, marking his sixth double-double of the season.
K-State (15-15, 9-10 Big 12) relied on tough defense to hold Cincinnati (17-13, 7-12 Big 12) to its lowest point total against them in conference play. The Wildcats swept the season series, earning their first road win at Cincinnati.
Trailing 25-22 at halftime, K-State improved in the second half, shooting 50% from the field. N’Guessan scored 14 of his 18 points after the break, helping the Wildcats take control. Junior Dug McDaniel added 13 points.
Cincinnati’s Day Day Thomas led his team with 12 points. K-State will host No. 10 Iowa State on Saturday for its final regular-season game.
